Pastor Tunde Bakare blesses new wife of popular pastor


The Senior Pastor, Fountain of Life Church, Lagos, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, has boldly announced his new wife, Pastor Mo Odukoya, to his congregation without minding what anyone would think.

The announcement was made during Sunday service on November 1, 2026, at the church headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos State.

The declaration has continued to generate reactions among members and on social media, as many expressed surprise, with some describing the move as coming shortly after his separation from his former wife.

Pastor Odukoya, however, defended his action, stating that it is backed by the Holy Bible.

He added that the scripture says it is not good for a man to be alone.

He said, "You know, ever since I became your pastor, I was doing this walk of life alone, and you know, the Bible said it is not good; it said I will find somebody suitable. I was looking and searching, and I found."

Despite the mixed reactions, the church happily welcomed the new wife who, it was gathered, hails from a pastoral family.

Mrs Odukoya is the daughter of Revd. Titus Daniel and Revd. Mrs Bolaji Daniel.

Giving a welcome speech, Mrs Odukoya expressed delight to be part of the Fountain of Life Church and the wife of Pastor Odukoya.

"Good morning, family. It's my pleasure and honour to be here and stand alongside my husband, the senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church," she said.

The high point of the service was the blessing by Pastor Odukoya's late mother's brother and the General Overseer, The Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare.

Bakare, who was invited to pray for the newlyweds alongside his wife, Olayide Bakare, stated that he was aware of all challenges faced by the church, but prayed for God's blessing on the union.

He said the couple got married in the United States.

In his remarks, Bakare prayed for God's protection and growth for the church and for the repose of Odukoya's late parents.

"Father, we bless you in the name of the Lord for this day. We are not here to sweep anything under the carpet. All things must be done decently and in order. Your union will be a power union. This home is built on the foundation of peace and stability, and love of God. Nothing will dismantle it," he prayed.
